swinging painting 2014 by Rachel O'Donnell art
When I created Swinging, I wanted to make a painting that was primitive in nature and gave the viewer a feeling of accidentally stumbling upon a dreadful scene. I think of this piece as a monstrous sibling of famous nightlife paintings, Cafe Terrace At Night by Van Gogh and Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère.
